Community Guidelines

How we keep DropSwap safe, fair, and trustworthy for everyone.

Last updated: April 2026

1. Honest Listings Only

  • Items must be accurately described — condition, age, and any defects disclosed
  • Photos must reflect the actual item in its current condition
  • No misleading titles, hidden damage, or exaggerated descriptions
  • Minimum 2 clear photos required per listing

2. Shipping Requirements

  • All items must be shipped using tracked delivery
  • You must retain proof of dispatch until the swap is confirmed complete
  • Failure to provide tracking evidence may count against you in a dispute
  • Use appropriate packaging — damage caused by inadequate packing is your responsibility

3. No Fraud or Abuse

You must not:

  • Send empty, incorrect, or substitute items
  • Falsely claim non-receipt of an item
  • Manipulate, fabricate, or misrepresent evidence in a dispute
  • Create fake accounts or manipulate trust scores or ratings

Accounts involved in fraudulent activity may be permanently banned. Where DropSwap communicates a fraud outcome to Stripe, Stripe may capture or otherwise process the relevant card security hold in accordance with its own terms and conditions. Serious cases may be referred to law enforcement.

4. Respectful Communication

  • No harassment, threats, or abusive language toward other users
  • Keep all communication relevant to swaps
  • Do not share personal contact details until a swap is confirmed
  • Do not use the messaging system to solicit off-platform transactions

5. Prohibited Items

You must not list, offer, or send:

  • Tickets, passes, or items whose transfer is restricted by the issuer
  • Recalled goods or items subject to a safety notice
  • Personal documents, identity documents, or items containing another person's personal data
  • Live animals
  • Prescription-only or pharmacy-only medication
  • Medical devices or health products that require professional supervision
  • Used cosmetics, toiletries, or hygiene-sensitive items
  • Opened, homemade, or loose food items (factory-sealed or vacuum-packed only)
  • Chilled, frozen, or perishable food requiring temperature-controlled handling
  • Food or drink past its stated expiry date
  • Regulated plants, invasive species, or seeds that cannot lawfully be supplied
  • Hazardous, dangerous, flammable, or toxic materials
  • Anything that is illegal to buy, sell, or possess under the laws of England and Wales

6. Platform Integrity

  • Do not attempt to bypass platform fees or the security hold process
  • Do not arrange swaps off-platform to avoid DropSwap's processes
  • Do not use DropSwap for commercial resale or business-to-consumer activity
  • Do not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform

7. Enforcement

DropSwap may at any time:

  • Remove listings that violate these guidelines or our Terms & Conditions
  • Issue warnings or restrict account functionality
  • Suspend or permanently ban accounts
  • Communicate outcomes to Stripe that may result in security holds being captured, cancelled, or released in cases of fraud or serious breach, subject to Stripe's own terms
  • Refer matters to law enforcement where appropriate

DropSwap will consider the seriousness of the breach, available evidence, user history, and whether the issue appears accidental, negligent, or fraudulent. Enforcement decisions are final for platform administration purposes. These guidelines should be read alongside our full Terms & Conditions.
